Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how EEAT Analyser handles cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website (eeatanalyser.netlify.app) or use our Chrome extension. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website when you visit it. They range from keeping you logged in (functional) to tracking behaviour across the web for advertising (tracking). Some are essential; others are optional and exist only to collect data about you.
Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage — browser-side storage that behaves like cookies but isn’t transmitted to servers. We use these in the Chrome extension (not the website).
Cookies We Use
The only cookie categories that may apply when you visit our website. We do not set any of these ourselves — they may be set by our infrastructure provider, Netlify.
Strictly Necessary / Technical Cookies
Essential, cannot be disabled. These cookies:
- Are required for hosting to serve the website correctly and securely.
- Collect no personal info.
- Are not used for tracking.
- __cf_bm (Cloudflare/Netlify) — bot management, expires 30 minutes.
- _cfuvid (Cloudflare/Netlify) — rate-limiting, session.
Google Fonts
No cookies set; loading the typeface causes a request to fonts.googleapis.com; your IP is transmitted as a standard HTTP request.
Cookies We Absolutely Don’t Use
Analytics Cookies
Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Plausible — never used. We run no analytics scripts; we do not track page views, sessions, click paths, or scroll depth.
Advertising & Retargeting Cookies
Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag — never used. Completely ad-free.
Profiling & Behavioural Tracking
Session recording, heatmaps, fingerprinting — never used.
Third-Party Cookie Disclosure
Complete list:
- Netlify — hosts website; may set __cf_bm, _cfuvid; standard server logs IP / timestamp / user-agent.
- Google Fonts — serves typeface files; no cookies, IP transmitted.
- Google Apps Script — routes support form to Gmail; no cookies, receives name / email / message.
Chrome Extension Storage
The Chrome extension does not use cookies. It uses chrome.storage.local.
- What is stored: your last 100 SEO analysis results — URL, score, issue count, timestamp — on your device only.
- Who can access it: only you.
- How to delete it: Dashboard → Clear All, or uninstall the extension.
Your Choices & Controls
- Block all cookies in Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies → Block all cookies.
- Clear existing cookies — Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data.
- Clear extension storage — Dashboard → Clear All.
Your Privacy Rights
Under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California):
- Right to Know — this policy is the disclosure.
- Right to Delete — clear cookies / extension data anytime.
- Right to Opt Out — block cookies anytime; the tool works fully without them.
- Right to Portability — export history as CSV / JSON.
Changes to This Policy
We may update when infrastructure or third-party dependencies change; updates reflected in the Last updated date. We will never introduce analytics, advertising or tracking cookies without updating this policy and obtaining consent first.
